Career Bridge
SHABELLE connects Eastern African youth and young adults to corporations and other employers, supporting their career needs and corporate staffing fulfillment. We train youth and young adults, preparing them to work in their field of study. We teach them how to write resumes and cover letters, build portfolios, and prepare for interviews.
Who it is for
Wherever you are in the transition
The same preparation matters at every stage, but the emphasis changes. Find the description that fits where you are now.

Students
Still enrolled, working out what your field actually looks like in practice, and what the entry points are.
Young adults
Finished or finishing a program, ready to turn it into a first professional role but unsure where to start.
Early career
Already working and looking to move deliberately rather than reactively to whatever comes up next.
What we cover
Six areas of preparation
We work through these in the order that fits your situation, not in a fixed sequence. Most people start with whichever one feels most urgent.
Career planning and direction
Working out what roles actually fit your field, what they are called, and what the realistic entry points look like.
Resume preparation
Structure, ordering, and how to describe what you have done in terms a hiring manager can evaluate quickly.
Interview preparation
Research, practice, how to talk about your experience under pressure, and what to ask them.
Job-search preparation
Where to look, how to keep a search organized over months, and how to follow up without overdoing it.
Identifying opportunities
Recognizing which openings are worth your time, and which ones you are actually positioned to win.
Professional preparation
Email, workplace communication and the unwritten expectations that nobody teaches in school.
Being clear about the limits
We prepare people for opportunity. We do not decide who gets it.
It would be easy to imply that working with SHABELLE leads to a job. It would also be dishonest, and it would set people up to measure themselves against a promise nobody can keep.
Career Bridge is not a staffing service, an employment agency or a recruiting firm. We do not have positions to fill and we do not place candidates with employers. Our work is preparation. The hiring decision belongs to each employer.

Common questions
Career Bridge questions
Does SHABELLE find jobs for people?
No. We are not a staffing agency or a recruiting firm, and we do not place candidates with employers. We prepare people for the hiring process: direction, materials, interview practice and organization.
Can you guarantee I will get an interview or an offer?
No, and you should be cautious of anyone who says they can. Hiring decisions rest entirely with the employer. Preparation improves your position and makes sure you do not lose opportunities for avoidable reasons.
I have no relevant work experience. Is it worth starting?
Yes, and this is one of the most common starting points. Coursework, projects, volunteering, part time jobs and family responsibility all contain usable material. Most of the work is learning how to describe what you have done.
Do you help with a career change?
Yes. People moving into a new field often undersell themselves because they compare their background to people who took the direct route. The work is identifying which skills carry over and saying so clearly.
How do I get started?
